Recovering from a wound, David joins the International Brigades and sees the Republic's factions turn their guns on each other.
What happened here
On 19 July 1936 workers and loyal police defeated the military uprising in Barcelona, and the city went through a social revolution led by the anarchist CNT. Militias left here for the Aragon front. In the May Days of 1937, fighting broke out between the CNT and POUM on one side and Republican and Communist forces on the other. Italian aircraft bombed the city in March 1938, and it fell in January 1939.
